Inspired by a piece of Victorian hair jewelry, this custom sculptural piece was created for the Missouri History Museum's Threads fundraiser event. The final pieces uses a bleach ice-dyed black silk and an over-piece created with a 3D Doodler 3D printing pen.
Victorian hair jewelry was created by molding a deceased loved ones hair into beads, pendants, and jewelry pieces. In modern society we connect with loved ones through technology. The use of the 3D Doodler 3D printing pen, it combines the technology aspect with a hand-drawn quality.
